How AirLAN handles data

Effective August 5, 2026. AirLAN is built to transfer file content directly between devices. This page explains what the service handles, what remains in your browser, and where third-party services may process limited technical data.

Your file content

AirLAN does not upload file content to its application server. After the receiver accepts a request, the browsers establish an encrypted WebRTC data channel and transfer file chunks directly between the participating devices. AirLAN does not provide cloud storage, does not retain a copy of transferred files, and does not use file content for advertising or analytics.

Device discovery and signaling

The signaling service processes a generated device ID, the device name selected by the browser or user, visibility preferences, connection messages, and network information needed to group automatic discovery to the same local network. These values allow the browsers to find one another and negotiate a WebRTC connection. Active connection records are held in server memory and are removed when a browser disconnects; the service is not an address book or permanent transfer-history store.

Information stored in your browser

AirLAN uses browser storage for preferences such as language, device name, device ID, visibility, and previously accepted devices. Transfer state may also be stored temporarily so a live interrupted transfer can continue. This information stays under the website's browser storage and can be removed by clearing site data. The transfer history shown on the page is local to that browser and is not a server-hosted account history.

Infrastructure and advertising

The website uses infrastructure providers to deliver the page and protect the public service. Those providers may process ordinary web request information such as IP address, user agent, time, and requested URL for routing, security, and operational logs. AirLAN may use Google AdSense on pages that contain publisher content. Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies to serve, measure, and protect ads according to Google's policies and the consent choices available in your region.

No advertisement is required to start or complete a transfer, and advertising code is not given access to the files selected for transfer. Static Help, About, and Privacy pages do not contain ad placements.

Your choices

• Use the visibility setting to control whether same-network devices, previous devices, or no new devices can discover you.
• Clear site data in the browser to remove the local device identity, preferences, and history.
• Decline any incoming transfer before file content is sent.
• Use the advertising consent controls shown for your region to manage optional advertising storage.

Policy changes

This notice may be updated when the service or its providers change. The effective date at the top identifies the current version. Material changes will be reflected on this page before they apply to later use of the service.
